Basler AG and CCS Inc. win the silver medal for their intelligent lighting solutions and the Basler SLP feature at the Vision Systems Design 2021 Innovators Awards. The Vision Systems Design 2021 Innovators Awards program reviews and recognizes the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry.

The judging panel were experts from system integrator and end-user companies. The criteria the judges used in the Innovators Awards ranking included: originality, innovation; impact on designers, systems integrators and end-users; fulfilling a need in the market that hasn’t been addressed, leveraging a novel technology, and increasing productivity.

Basler and CCS, an LED industrial lighting manufacturer, have developed a portfolio of intelligent lighting. This feature enables direct communication between camera and light source with only one software package, the pylon Camera Software Suite. The new lighting concepts are designed for selected Basler ace cameras with the Basler SLP feature. With it, the complexity of a vision system can be reduced and users can integrate lighting easily and early on, thus shortening the time spent on design and installation.

With the Basler SLP feature, customers can choose from two approaches: a plug and play solution using the Basler Camera Light series, where the SLP Controller and standard lighting are integrated into one product, or the more flexible solution, where the Basler SLP Controller provides the connection of a light source of choice from a wide range of light sources, to the camera’s SLP feature.

Torben Deike, Product Manager for Companion Products at Basler explains: “This brilliant outcome for our customers has achieved thanks to the close cooperation between CCS and Basler to provide additional customer value. I strongly believe that due to this partnership we have succeeded in combining the strengths of two world market leaders and transforming their technologies into a customer-centric lighting approach. With the Basler SLP feature, even strobing and overdrive functions are easily accessible and can be used by less experienced users”.

Basler is a leading international manufacturer of high-quality imaging components for computer vision applications.
