Basler breaks ground on expanded HQ

By Lee Mclaughlan -

Basler has given the signal to start construction on the building expansion in Ahrensburg with a ceremonial ground-breaking.

The extension will cover around 9,500 square metres and provide additional office space for 350 employees.

The new building is planned to have six floors with direct access to the existing building as well as a large bistro and multifunctional areas for employees and guests. Basler AG expects the new building to be completed in summer 2022.

Hardy Mehl, the member of the Board of Management who is responsible for the project, is very much looking forward to the start of the expansion.

He said: “The plan to create space for our growing company by expanding the building was made long before 2020 and the corona pandemic. Our business has developed positively over the past few months, and we are therefore continuing to look to the future with optimism.

“With the new building we are investing in a very attractive and highly modern working environment for our current and future colleagues. Even though we have had positive experiences with virtual collaboration in recent months, our buildings remain the central place to cultivate our corporate culture and team spirit, which is a central component of our success.”

With this expansion, Basler confirms its proven track for growth even in the corona crisis and sends a clear signal for the Ahrensburg site.
